Abstract

Performance evaluations, which measure the employee productivity, are in general conducted annually using a Performance Appraisal System (PAS). The PAS has drawbacks relating to frequency of evaluation and fixation with target achievement. Moreover, the evaluation criteria/variables considered are seldom communicated to the employees. These drawbacks can be addressed by having a transparent conceptual framework for Continuous Performance Evaluation of Employees (CPEE). This CPEE can be sustained when there is periodic output such as reward and recognition (R&R), offered timely. This study proposes one such conceptual framework for CPEE to offer R&R. For developing the proposed framework, variables required are identified by following multi explorative approaches. The identified variables are triangulated and with that 33 unique variables are obtained. An initial framework based on these 33 variables linking R&R is statistically validated by taking opinion from 443 employees. Finally, applying PLS SEM the final conceptual framework for CPEE to offer R&R is obtained.
