Sabia Singh and Gurpreet Randhawa
Abstract |
The main aim of the present study is to explore the concept of work alienation through literature review.
In addition, the study attempts to identify the potential predictors or antecedents of work alienation along with its possible consequences. Also, the study advances a theoretical model depicting predictors of work alienation such as job characteristics, role stressors and organizational cynicism along with its consequences like turnover intentions, workplace deviance and low level of organizational citizenship behaviour. The present study will be useful for managers and policy makers while formulating and implementing human resource policies, strategies and practices for identifying and timely dealing with work alienation among employees in an effective and constructive manner.
